The RTF Kids’ Crit is a FREE non-competitive opportunity for youngsters (ages 7-11) to ride a portion of the Green Mountain Stage Race (GMSR) Burlington Criterium circuit. Cyclists ride up to 4 laps on a short course and roads are closed to traffic. There are two fields with separate start times.

The first annual RTF Kids Crit was held in 2015, and has been a favorite of kids, parents, and fans alike. Each year, the smiles reflect the enthusiasm Richard exuded whenever he was on his bike; his ‘play-like-a-kid’ energy, and his happiness to see other people, especially kids, on bikes.

In previous years, the Burlington Police Chief, Tour de France cyclists, and the 1K2Go team have joined the kids as pacesetters. The event is announced by the GMSR officials. In the words of the GMSR Director, “The Kids’ Crit is the most exciting and most fun event of the day!”
